Greetings in the precious name of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ.
THE LIGHT OF CHRIST SHINES IN DARKNESS.
Do you shine in darkness?
Prophet Isaiah prophesied and said:
“The People walking in darkness have seen a great light;on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)
This prophecy was fulfilled by the coming of Jesus as the light of the world.
As we read in John 1: 4:
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.”
Whatever Jesus said and did gave light to the world.
Jesus gave light to the world by preaching the good news of salvation and doing mighty works of healing the sick, casting out demons, feeding the hungry crowd and raising the dead. (cf. Mathew 4:23-24).
Similarly we as the body of Christ could shine in the world by boldly preaching the good news of salvation, feeding the hungry and clothing the naked. We could also be visiting the sick and comforting the grieved as well as inviting and welcoming people to worship with us.
As our Collect says:
May God bless us and help us to shine to others in word and deed.
“You are the light of the world….” (Mathew 5: 14).
